Woodland Walks
About Mill Valley

We set this business up, partly because we realised there was a gap in the market for a truly unique holiday experience, and partly because we want to build a business based upon our principles of zero
environmental impact, specifically in the tourist industry. We think we have, or have planned, to do
everything within the business that is both carbon neutral and environmentally sustainable.

What we don't have on site:
Sky TV, Hard standing, electrical hook-ups, social clubs and redcoats…

What we do have on site:

Peace, tranquillity, green fields and rolling hills. A river and a watermill we are restoring, two cute dogs to
play with, walks through natural bluebell woods, birdsong, clean air, a couple of very friendly goats to
keep the paths tidy and the grass down, some funky chickens, fish in the clean river, and a stone bridge
to sit on…need we say more?

Based in lovely part of Cornwall, we offer our visitors a unique chance to experience a holiday in a tipi or a yurt...We have tried to make Mill Valley as eco friendly and carbon neutral as possible...We have our own composting toilet and in a small log cabin you will find 2 (seperate!) roll top baths, supplied with the water
from our bore hole which is heated by a wood burning stove!...  On site we have some friendly chickens
which you are welcome to feed and can help yourself to eggs!  We are surrounded by tranquil riverside
walks through natural bluebell woods and a little stone bridge to sit on and watch for wildlife such as
Otters and Kingfishers! Well behaved dogs are very welcome to come along and take advantage of the
nearby walks!!

We are half a mile walk down a footpath to Sladesbridge (where there is a pub and a large garden
centre with a restaurant) 3 miles from Wadebridge,6 miles from the beaches at Rock & Polzeath.
We are approx half an hour drive from the famous Eden Project and about 20 minutes drive away
from Padstow where you will find Rick Steins well renowned Seafood restaurant!

We have fishing rights to the river Allen which is 100yards from site which you are welcome to take
advantage of.  There is the camel trail close by or if you want somewhere a bit quieter there are
2 riverside walks within 100yards of  the site...with a pub on either end!!
Some of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall are within 6 miles, and Newquay is only 15 miles away...

We currently have an 18ft traditional Sioux design Tipi, a 16ft traditional Mongolian Yurt and a 10ft
coppiced Yurt, all are luxuriously furnished.  We have wood burning stoves in the larger Yurt and
Tipi, and a small camping stove in the smaller yurt...We have a covered BBQ area and every dwelling
will have their own fire pit.

You will be made to feel very welcome from the beginning to the end of your holiday and please do
not hesitate to ask us about anything you like!!

We are extremely enthusiastic about our yurts and tipis and the stunning area that we live in and
would live to share this with you…

Our Plans for the site

Our aspirations for the future of the site:

To construct a shower room powered solely by solar power.

We aim that in the future we will be able to make our own charcoal from the woods which we are
surrounded by.

Our 16ft Mongolian Yurt!

We also want to restore the mill and run it as it would have done back in it's day!

We want to get our poly tunnels up and running again and be self-sufficient when it comes to organic
fruit & veg…& then we want to maybe have a little farm shop so we can share our produce!
